My name is Lisa Moody. I am 21 years old and I am a Criminology student at Florida State University. I am also minoring in English, as I have a great appreciation for literature and enjoy learning the deeper meanings within literary works. I was a competitive gymnast for most of my life, and was even a performer in Florida State University’s Circus. When I am not in school, I work a part-time job as a server.

     I enjoy literary arts because they allow you to get a look into the lives of other people, and to get a better understanding of their thoughts and struggles. Literature allows an individual to express themselves and gives them a platform to speak out about a multitude of societal issues. My favorite kinds of novels are Gothic novels because they combine horror elements with romantic elements, and they usually bring attention to pressing issues in society. My favorite novel of all time is Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, which brings attention to role of women and the importance of social class.
